The Lake

Lake Caldonazzo in the Valsugana area is the second largest lake in the Trentino region... right after Lake Garda, which is only partly located in the Trentino. The lake offers excellent quality of water. The average depth of the lake is 26.5 metres; the deepest point is 47 metres.

Lake Caldonazzo is well known as a swimming lake and is very popular. Its temperature in May and September is a comfortable 20°C, but during the summer months it can reach up to 27°C. It’s ideal for swimming!

Lake Caldonazzo is also a great place for true holiday fun. You can surf, sail, dive, swim, row or enjoy  canoeing.

Anglers also love this lake due to its wealth of fish, such as trout, carp, tench, pike and much more. Lake Caldonazzo is also venue for a number of national and international sporting events.
